Shri Sai SatCharitra Chapter 16 & 17 video Hindi part 2

This video is the part of Shri Sai Satcharitra – Hindi Audio Video

Shri Sai SatCharitra chapter 16 & 17 has a story of a wealthy and miser man who thought he had everything in this world and lacked the self-realization. Hearing about the spiritual glories of Sai Baba he rushed to Shirdi for the same.

Earlier story of Sai Baba in Sai SatCharitra Chapter 15 - Hindi Audio Video was of a humble man, who trusted Baba and had patience. Thus, he was able and ready to receive Sai Baba’s love and grace.

The person in this story approaches Sai Baba with pride and haughtiness. Baba had His own way to make him realize the same. And reading and listening to this story we too get to listen to the teachings given by Sai Baba.

A friend of his who knew him well tried to stop him saying that, it was difficult for someone who’s mind is always engrossed in wealth and world to attain self-realization. As the man with pride acts, he disregarded his advice without giving it a thought.

He went to Masjid (Dwarkamai) his body bowed at Baba’s feet. His mind had not. He said, "Baba, hearing that You show the Brahman to all who come over here without any delay, I have come here all the way from my distant place. I am much fatigued by the journey and if I get the Brahman from You, my troubles will be well-paid and rewarded."
Everywhere the I was more prominent. I have come, I am fatigued, my troubles will be and should be well-paid. This is the worst frame of mind one can take Sai Baba or any divine place. Far better is the humble mind, a seeking and empty mind, a loving and relaxed mind. Then it can imbibe the divine presence. Get rich with the divine.

Baba treated and treats each individual differently. Only He knows. Sai Baba then replied, "Oh, My dear friend, do not be anxious, I shall immediately show you the Brahman; all My dealings are in cash and never on credit. So many people come to Me, and ask for wealth, health, power, honor, position, cure of diseases and other temporal matters. Rare is the person, who comes here to Me and asks for Brahma-Jnana. There is no dearth of persons asking for worldly things, but as persons interested in spiritual matters are very rare, I think it a lucky and auspicious moment, when persons like you come and press Me for Brahma-Jnana. So I show to you with pleasure, the Brahman with all its accompaniments and complications."

Then Baba diverted the talks to other things. Had the seeker been intensely seeking self realization, He would have just sat there in silence, soaking in the divine presence of Baba and Dwarkamai. Heart feeling gratefulness, and the consciousness filled with some mysterious, divine, loving and protective energy. All that ME and I and MINE would have melted. This was and is felt by many devotees. Any way, we are here to enjoy the play of Baba who sits with His infinite love and grace in the Masjid (Dwarkamai).

In the course of talk, Sai Baba suddenly called a boy named Nandu and asked him to get a loan of Rupees 5 from certain devotees house. The boy returned with the news that the house was closed. Sai Baba sent him to another home with the same result. And again.

It is a well known fact that Baba knew everything. What devotee thought, what devotee did. When devotee did and how it was done. So this was just a play.

The seeker of the self-realization, which is considered wealth of wealth was unmoved with this quest for Rupees 5. Perhaps he had made it very clear well in the beginning that HE had come, HE took all the troubles and for that HE should be paid. Nothing more left to give.

Then Baba showed him another currency. The currency required for self-realization. He said those Rupees 5 were symbolic.

Sai Baba replied - "Oh my dear friend, did you not understand all the procedure that I went through, sitting in this place, for enabling you to see the Brahman? It is, in short this. For seeing Brahman one has to give five things, i.e. surrender five things viz. (1) Five Pranas (vital forces), (2) Five senses (five of action and five of perception), (3) mind, (4) intellect and (5) ego. This path of Brahma-Jnana of self-realization is 'as hard as to tread on the edge of a razor'.

When ever the author reaches this part. He adds a prayers to Baba. Baba five pranas i offer to You. But they are not in control of me, neither i know them in their entirety. So please you take them. If you take them, nothing in the world can stop it happen. I love you that much and i trust You that much. It goes the same with the other 4, and with every teaching encountered while reading Sai SatCharitra. Baba please you make it happen. i, i know will surely fail. YOU, it is certain that it has to succeed, there is no other way.

The teachings that followed can be read on Shri Sai SatCharitra chapter 16 & 17
